About

Meet Alex

Therapy with Alex aims to support clients to build insight, resilience, and practical skills, while creating meaningful and sustainable change in their lives.

Alex is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). He is registered to provide services through Medicare Australia, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), and private health insurers, and works with eligible NDIS participants where therapy aligns with plan goals.

Alex works with clients aged 13 years and over and has a particular interest in supporting LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals. His therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to each person, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed practice to support meaningful and lasting change.

His professional background includes experience across a range of hospital and community settings, including intensive care and surgical environments, addictions and mental health services, and the homelessness sector. Alex has supported individuals and families facing complex and high-risk situations, such as mental health difficulties, suicide risk, substance use, family and domestic violence, child protection involvement, and other challenges affecting emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing.

Alex has undertaken post-qualifying training in psychology and psychotherapy and is currently completing further tertiary study in mental health to continue expanding his clinical knowledge and skills. His work is grounded in ethical, evidence-based practice and a strong commitment to person-centred care.
